How many appointments do I need?

First visit (1 day)

During this appointment, Dr. Lugo will thoroughly examine your teeth and gums and evaluate bone density and quantity.Some patients with insufficient bone or gum tissue require bone or soft tissue grafts.

Implants are typically placed in a single sitting but require a period of osseointegration.

After placing implant, the period of time is aproximately 3 months to anchor and heal, at which point your dentist can complete the procedure.

* Note: We provide you temporary teeth that are made out of acrilic. This way you will have teeth till your second appointment. (Free of charge).

Second Visit (1 day)

Your second visit will be to place the abutment over the implant, now that the implant is well integrated into your jaw bone.

The following step is to take impressions for your final crowns and place them.

Third and last visit (1 day)

What are Veneers? – 

Are thin slices of porcelain that are precisely made to fit over the visible surface of a tooth , this procedure consist of bonding a veneer to the surface of a tooth to correct and repair chips and cracks improving a worn appearance or severe tooth discoloration. Many people have small teeth resulting in spaces that may not be easily closed by orthodontics.

How does the procedure of Veneers work?

A dentist may use one or multiple veneers to restore fractured or discolored teeth.

An impression is taken for the veneer to be made in our laboratory and then bonded to the tooth. They match the color, appearance and translucence of your natural teeth.

How many appointments do I need for my veneers?

** Two appointments will be required for this procedure.

First appointment:

Takes approximately 1 hour.

Teeth are prepared for the veneers and impressions are taken, your veneers will be created in our Dental Laboratory by a dental technician, the same day you will leave with temporary veneers.

To make a veneer a very small amount of enamel is removed from your tooth, the amount of tooth enamel that the dentist will shave off is on the order of .5 to .7 millimeters.

Second appointment:

Takes approximately 2 hours

Veneers are bonded to your teeth.

First the porcelain veneer will be cleaned and prepared for the cementation process. 

Your tooth will also be cleaned, usually by polishing it with a rubber cup or brush.

I had scheduled a crown replacement and two extractions in preparation for implants. Dr Lugo did a thorough exam, and started on the crown replacement, only to find decay under the old crown requiring a root canal. Did I have to wait a week to schedule a root canal, then come back for a crown fitting, then wait two more weeks for the crown to arrive and be set? No, not at all. Dr. Lugo called in his endodontist and we started the root canal right away.

Once that was done, we started the extractions, which proved longer and more difficult than expected. Dr Lugo and his team were committed to stay and work until done, which turned out to be 7:30PM in my case. The crown was done overnight. Bottom line: I got a lot done in a much shorter time and much more cost effectively than if I had done it in the U.S.
